Bill Shrosbree Butch Van Artsdalen Longboard Surfboard
More from Fresh Pineapples
The Butch Van Artsdalen model longboard by legendary shaper Bill Shrosbree has proven itself over the last forty years to be his best all around longboard design. Shros has been shaping longboards since 1965 and has worked in some of the most famous shaping rooms in the world to include Velzy, Greg Noll, Gordon and Smith and Sunset Surfboards. If you want a board with classic longboard styling, surface glide and forgiving rails for turning this board will meet all of your expectations. This shape is also an excellent nose rider. The Butch Van Artsdalen longboard model was created as a tribute to the legendary big wave surfer who Shros would see as a young boy in Pacific City where he lives. Shros always admired Butch and decided to shape and design a surfboard as a tribute to this surfing legend who was known for tackling Pipeline, Sunset and Waimea Bay in the 60's and 70's. The board is built for durability without adding extra weight. We use two layers of glass on top (6 ounce and 4 ounce) and then a 6 ounce glass on bottom and then finish the board with a really stunning gloss and polish done right here in San Diego. Bill recommends the Joel Tudor Diamond Single Fin, fin is included with this board for same price. Available with single or triple stringer option. Other options are custom color and nose and tail blocks for an additional fee. This board The Butch Van Artsdalen longboard is designed, hand finished and signed by Bill Shrosbree, world class designer and shaper. About Fresh Pineapples
Groundswell Supply sought out to partner with a very established board builder for our longboards and fun shapes. In this endeavor we worked with Ed Wright who recommended Shros as one of the best shapers in the business. We are happy we took Ed's advice and feel privileged to have built a relationship with Shros as he has become a good friend who has been able to teach us so much about the art of shaping and the surfboard history.
